They join their work with Isaac, Martha, and Beth Wilson, newly freed from slavery, and make two neighboring farms work as one. The family they become is something the county’s old order cannot tolerate. When a plantation heir turns debt, law, and violence against them, Josey must decide what revenge is allowed to cost.

Sarah’s Locket — An Earlier Version
Before The House the War Left, I independently published CTRL ALT DELETED, An Elk’s Tear, Echoes of Jameson, and FULL HARD THORAX. An earlier novella, Sarah’s Locket, first explored characters and a premise I later rebuilt from the ground up for The House the War Left. That novella is no longer in publication.
Every one of those books taught me something. They are part of the road that brought me here.
